Built in sixteenth century the fort is an exceptionally amazing masterpiece that represents the magnificent architecture of primeval epoch. Inscripted in 1983, the fort includes cartagories like Military or Fortification, Palaces Secular Structure and Secular Structure.
This fort is one of the most imperative and strongly built edifices of the Mughal rulers, inflated with the sum of opulently adorned buildings incorporating the daunting Mughal style of art and construction.It issituated in Agra of Uttar Pradesh, India. The fort is popular among tourists as Red Fort, Fort Rouge and LaalQuila of Agra. It is positioned on the rightward bank of the Yamuna River and was built by the third Mughal king Akbar on the leftovers of a prehistoric place well known as Badalgarh.
Agra Fort is constructed near the Yamuna River and expanses more or less 2.5 km. It comprises of a wall made of red stone and quite a lot of structures inside. There are two gates in the wall, the Amar Singh Gate and the Delhi Gate. A tourist can enter the fort by way of the Amar Singh Gate.
After entering through the gateway, one has to walk over a gradient and move in the Great Courtyard. There is the sundry pillared Deewan-e-Aam (Great hall of Public Audience). This hall was erected by Shah Jahan in the year 1628.
Moving forward, tourist will come across the Regal Pavilions that contain amazing mosques naming Mina Masjid and Nagina Masjid. There are also many palaces namely Shah Jahan Mahal, Macchi Bhavan, Shish Mahal and Khas Mahal located inside the fort, along with a beautiful Zenana Meena Bazaar.
There are also numerous constructions made of unadulterated sandstone with eye-grabbing carvings. The wonderful piece of smart architecture is clearly displayed on the walls that are hollow and are full of continuously running water, in order to cool off the rooms of the fort. One of the most striking facts that make Agra Fort a must-visit destination in Agra, is the arresting view of Taj Mahal and the gleaming Yamuna River from the Balcony of the fort.
You can reach Agra Fort, by air, where you can avail the nearest airport to the fort – Agra Airport. This air port is both a military and civil airbase; however, the nearest international airport to this fort is in New Delhi. Agra Railway station has the trains running to the major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, etc. which will give the option to avail the train service to this fort.
By Road: Agra Fort is approachable through bus, taxi and all the others vehicles. It is positioned on crossroads of NH-2, NH-3 and NH-11. This fort is well connected to all the nearby cities like Delhi, Mathura, Jaipur, etc.

NEW DELHI - An extensive sight-seeing tour of New Delhi would include a visit to the Qutub Minar, a drive along the ceremonial avenue - Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House, and the President's Residence and would end with a drive through the Diplomatic Enclave. Day 3: Delhi – Agra (By Surface)
After breakfast drive to Agra. Arrive Agra and check in at your hotel. Later, proceed for city sightseeing tour of Agra. Visit the world famous Taj Mahal, built by the Mughal Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Also visit Agra Fort, containing the pearl mosque – the rusty and majestic red sandstone fort of Agra stands on the bank of river Yamuna and Emperor Akbar started the construction in 1566. At the Diwan-I-Khas (Hall of Private Audience) the marble pavilions with floral inlays lend on ethereal ambience, the Emperor sat on his gem-studded peacock throne and met foreign ambassador and rulers of friendly kingdoms. Day 4: Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Jaipur (By Surface)
After breakfast drive to Jaipur en-route visit Fatehpur sikri, a perfectly preserved red sandstone “ghost town” which was the estranged capital of Mughal emperor Akbar, built in 1569 and deserted when its water supply failed. After the visit continue drive to Jaipur. Arrive Jaipur and check-in at hotel. Night stay in Jaipur
Day 5: Jaipur
After breakfast proceed for excursion to Amber Fort.
AMBER FORT PALACE - Amber is the classic romantic Rajasthani fort palace. Its construction was started by Maharaja Man Singh I in 1592, and completed by his descendent Maharaja Jai Singh I. Its forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise, where a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles finds its ultimate expression.
CITY PALACE - A delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture, the City Palace sprawls over one-seventh of the area in the walled city. It houses the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the City Palace Museum.
JANTAR MANTAR - This is the largest and the best preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in different parts of the country. This observatory consisting of outsized astronomical instruments is still in use.
HAWA MAHAL - The ornamental facade of this "Palace of Winds" is a prominent landmark in Jaipur. Their five-storey structures of sandstone plastered pink encrusted with fine trelliswork and elaborate balconies. The palace has 953 niches and windows. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Pratap Singh, the Mahal was a royal grandstand for the palace women. Night stay in Jaipur
Day 6: Departure
Morning, proceed for departure and transfer to the airport or railway station to board the flight or train for your onward journey. Tour ends with sweet memories.
